Hello
Hi! I'm Astrid, and I'm so glad you're here! It is my hope you enjoy this website, and the quilting experiences within it. I would love for this to be a place of inspiration, escape, and connection. May you find that small moment or make that little discovery within these pages.
About
My journey begins as an elementary school teacher. And if you’re thinking, “That is so sweet!” You might be right. Working with children is a rewarding experience, and seeing them return to you as they grow, and step out on their own is quite rewarding. Yet, it is a great deal of work as well. Early mornings and late nights mark the path of most teachers. But the families and the children themselves have been a great gift. They have taught me how to laugh, listen, and love. I might be the lucky one here. What I have learned from them I could have learned nowhere else. For that I am grateful.

Now, every person at some time or other begins to change course either suddenly or gradually. In my case it was the latter. I picked up quilting some years ago as a hobby while on summer vacation. My first sewing machine was a gift, only $60 on sale, and that is where my journey began. I've quilted steadily since that summer day, and developed an appreciation for artisanship. There is an entirely new set of lessons to be learned, but this has been 25 years in the making, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.
